The first of may Pratt and I were able to spend about 9 days in AZ where we pretty much were hobo's for a good part of our trip. First off as we were getting ready to board our plane to AZ we found out our long awaited trip to havasupi was cancelled, they closed it down due to the swine flu. LAME. Thats all I have to say about that. We were devistated but since we had packed all our gear for back packing we decided we would have to plan another adventure. So here's how it went.
We spent a few days in Eagar just relaxing with Pratts parents and Pratt and I were able to take the quads to the mountains, we miss mountains, where PRATT got his quad stuck in the snow and mud and it took us about an hour to get him pulled out, it took him cutting a tree down but we were able to gethim out. We laughed about it and went on our way enjoying the beautiful mountains. One lesson I did learn was to never forget to put sunblock on your hands, my hands got fried on that ride.

We did get to see Krista and her kids for a couple hours the night we got there.

My mom had a surprise 80th B-Day party for my Grandma Massey at my cousin Darby's restaraunt in Pinetop, it was cute she was way surprised and very excited.

The next day we went to fossil springs with some friends and spent about 6-7 hours hiking, this place is amazing we kept hiking further and further up the stream, we should have stopped sooner than we did but it seemed to have gotten prettier the further we went up. We were exhausted and starving by the end of the day so we grabbed a burger then set up camp near west clear creek where pratt and I slept under the stars, it was such a beautiful night. We got up the next morning, Jackson came and we set off to hike to west clear creek, I won't go into much detail about this hike, lets just say we didn't make it to the water, we took the wrong canyon in and once we figured that out it was to late in the day to make it to the water and back out, so after about another 7 hours of hiking, jumping from rock to rock and climbing up and down canyons we were exhausted. Lets just say Pratt and I got our fill for hiking for a while. Pratt was way bummed that we didnt make it down to the water, but we still had a good time.

So after that we caught a ride with Jackson, he had somewhere to be so he was only able to drive us part way to roosevelt so we had him drop us off on the side of the road where we would wait for someone from my fam to pick us up. They ended up running behind and we waited there on the side of the road with all our gear, haven't showered for a couple days, we definantly looked like hobo's. So we are sitting there and this old VW hippie Van stops and this hippie lady gets out with a joint in her hand and asks if we wanted a ride, she probably thought we were hippies. Pratt enjoyed the interesting conversation we had with her though. HAHA. Good times. Jeff did eventually show up and we spent the rest of our time at roosevelt with my family, everyone was there except Krista and her family, we missed them. We had lots of fun though the weather was perfect and the water felt great. It's always so much fun going to roosevelt each year, Thanks Mom and Dad.
right before our hippie friend stopped.
