AZ, CO, OK........

Pratt and I have stayed very busy lately, at the first of October Pratt flew to AZ to do recruiting again at U of A and was able to spend a few days with some of his family in mesa. I had no desire to stay home alone so I took a day off and flew to Colorado to see my sisters for a couple of days. We had tons of fun shopping and visiting, I can't believe how much their babies have grown, I am mad that I did't think to take any pics with Kristas cute kiddos but below are a few of Kindys sweet Briley girl. It was so fun to see everyone, it's been way too long.
The day I got home I started getting pretty sick with the flu, it was not fun especially because Pratt was still in AZ during the whole ordeal. Pratt got even more sick then I did the day after he got back from his trip, but all is well now. It's for sure not a good time of year to travel.
My wonderful co-workers threw me a baby shower, we had so much fun and I got lots of way cute stuff including an outfit that says "Made in Texas"...too cute.
Last week my friends and girls from our ward threw us a shower, the food was way good and I again had tons of fun and got lots of cute stuff, it makes me way excited for this little guy to get here. I am sad because I didn't think to take a pic of everyone before they left but here is a pic of some of the beautiful girls at my shower. People here are too kind.
Briley and I all bundled up for the snow.

This weekend Pratt and I went with our good friends Jeff and Nina and their two cute boys camping in Broken Bow Oklahoma, it was very beautiful and the weather was perfect, we had tons of fun and ate lots of good dutch oven food, thanks to Pratt.

Changes...

As ya'll have heard there are lots of changes coming our way, good changes of course. Our little bundle of joy is due Jan 23rd and that day couldnt come any quicker. I have been very lucky and only lost my appetite in the evenings for a few weeks but never got extrememly nauseous, don't worry that appetite is back full force now and am starting to get a bit of a bump on my tummy, I love that little bump. I hope my luck so far will continue. Pratt and I have been pretty busy and trying to stay cool, this summer has been extremely hot and humid, yuck, I am just glad my baby is due in the winter. For the 4th we took a trip to Austin which is a very cool place. We went and toured the capital (we thought it was a very patriotic thing to do) and then walked for miles around downtown austin then went to this spring fed pool and cooled off, the water was freezing but felt soooo good. The next day we went to schlitterbaun (a big water park) and had a blast there, we thought maybe we would stay a few hours and be done, but we were there right until it closed, it's fun to be a kid at heart. It worked out great because it just so happened that we parked in the perfect spot to watch the fireworks so we layed in the back of our truck and watched the show. Lots of fun. Here are a few pics from our trip. We hope everyone is doing good, Wes comes home in a month and we are excited to see the buzzard, 2 years has flown by.

Barton springs pool.

Texas State Capitol. Very gorgeous building.

Waiting for the fireworks with our cool schlitterbaun bracelets.

lots of fun, lots of pictures....

The first of may Pratt and I were able to spend about 9 days in AZ where we pretty much were hobo's for a good part of our trip. First off as we were getting ready to board our plane to AZ we found out our long awaited trip to havasupi was cancelled, they closed it down due to the swine flu. LAME. Thats all I have to say about that. We were devistated but since we had packed all our gear for back packing we decided we would have to plan another adventure. So here's how it went.
We spent a few days in Eagar just relaxing with Pratts parents and Pratt and I were able to take the quads to the mountains, we miss mountains, where PRATT got his quad stuck in the snow and mud and it took us about an hour to get him pulled out, it took him cutting a tree down but we were able to gethim out. We laughed about it and went on our way enjoying the beautiful mountains. One lesson I did learn was to never forget to put sunblock on your hands, my hands got fried on that ride.

We did get to see Krista and her kids for a couple hours the night we got there.

My mom had a surprise 80th B-Day party for my Grandma Massey at my cousin Darby's restaraunt in Pinetop, it was cute she was way surprised and very excited.

The next day we went to fossil springs with some friends and spent about 6-7 hours hiking, this place is amazing we kept hiking further and further up the stream, we should have stopped sooner than we did but it seemed to have gotten prettier the further we went up. We were exhausted and starving by the end of the day so we grabbed a burger then set up camp near west clear creek where pratt and I slept under the stars, it was such a beautiful night. We got up the next morning, Jackson came and we set off to hike to west clear creek, I won't go into much detail about this hike, lets just say we didn't make it to the water, we took the wrong canyon in and once we figured that out it was to late in the day to make it to the water and back out, so after about another 7 hours of hiking, jumping from rock to rock and climbing up and down canyons we were exhausted. Lets just say Pratt and I got our fill for hiking for a while. Pratt was way bummed that we didnt make it down to the water, but we still had a good time.

So after that we caught a ride with Jackson, he had somewhere to be so he was only able to drive us part way to roosevelt so we had him drop us off on the side of the road where we would wait for someone from my fam to pick us up. They ended up running behind and we waited there on the side of the road with all our gear, haven't showered for a couple days, we definantly looked like hobo's. So we are sitting there and this old VW hippie Van stops and this hippie lady gets out with a joint in her hand and asks if we wanted a ride, she probably thought we were hippies. Pratt enjoyed the interesting conversation we had with her though. HAHA. Good times. Jeff did eventually show up and we spent the rest of our time at roosevelt with my family, everyone was there except Krista and her family, we missed them. We had lots of fun though the weather was perfect and the water felt great. It's always so much fun going to roosevelt each year, Thanks Mom and Dad.

Spring, armadillo, and Tornado.

Spring here is beautiful and we have been busy doing stuff outside like planting flowers, camping, and spending nights roller blading with neighbor kids. We happen to be very popular because our dog will pull us on our roller blades. Speaking of our dog, the other night she is barking like crazy which she never barks unless she feels intimidated so Pratt goes out back to see what's up and he finds an armadillo in our neighbor's back yard making it's way under the fence to our yard, so when I come out back there's pratt at one side of the yard standing on a chair looking over the fence with a flash light but rhew is nowhere near him, instead she is at the opposite side of the yard hiding behind our bbq grill. What a wimp, she was afraid of a stinking armadillo. What a guard dog huh, she'll warn us of danger but will do nothing about it. I attempted to take a picture but was a little afraid of the thing myself and didn't want to get to close, hey I have no idea what they are capable of.

Pratt went to AZ a few weeks ago to go recruiting for work at U of A and was able to spend some time with his family, he went hiking to a place called devils canyon (i'll post pics later) which looks like an awesome place and it makes me miss AZ, you really don't realize how beautiful it is there until you leave and move to a place such as texas. It's very green and beautiful here but there aren't as many cool places to go like devils canyon. Anyway so while he was there my Mom, Kindy, Briley, and Chell got to come visit and we had tons of fun shopping and hanging out. Thanks a ton for coming, I had so much fun.
Beautiful Briley

This is the toot stretch. They help.

My wonderful mother helping me make my pillows.

Briley met rhew, she wasn't sure what to think of her.

A couple weeks ago it was storming one night and the tornado sirens start going off, of course I am home alone. I was scared at first and had pratt on the phone within 2 seconds asking him to come home (he went to give a blessing), but then I realized it wasn't even raining or windy outside but it was completely calm so I became calm and stayed in our living room. Come to find out I am a very ignorant arizonan and should have been in my bathtub with my dog (I left her outside), I guess when it's calm that's when you should worry. This was not on my list of things I care to learn. Luckily the tornado did not hit our part of town. Oh the joys of living in TX.

We leave to AZ on friday and very excited for this trip and are excited to see our families. In preperation of hiking havasupi we have been running stairs lately which has caused many charlie horses in the middle of the night, Pratt is too lazy to get out of bed and walk them off so I wake up to him yelling in pain, all I can do is laugh at him and go back to sleep. Pratt ordered me this way cool sleeping bag since I didn't have one for back packing.

This was our dutch oven cook out in our back yard that I talked about in our last post, lots of fun.
